Higher Education in Developing Countries like Nigeria

In developing countries like Nigeria, the education system suffers a great deal due to political turmoil and weak infrastructure. Colleges do exist so that students can carry on with their education but the colleges are not good enough and the level of teaching is extremely substandard. It has been noticed that most students pass out of school and join the small colleges or start working as menial labourers. There are few students who can afford to go abroad to study but they are just a handful. However, another very common trend noticed in these developing countries is that more than half the students take up online distance learning courses offered by renowned universities.
